The National Association of Manufacturers has launched a new social media campaign designed to promote manufacturing by riffing on one of President Donald Trump's most famous catchphrases.
The title of NAM's #YoureHired campaign plays on "You're fired!"—a phrase popularized by Trump during his days hosting Celebrity Apprentice. Timed to coincide with Trump's inauguration, the first part of the campaign consists of a 30-second video featuring the president visiting a manufacturer in Dayton, Ohio.
"President Donald Trump is on course to be America's most accessible modern-day president—accessible to the people who he will take an oath to serve today," NAM CEO Jay Timmons said. "We could think of no better way to congratulate our new president on his first day than on platforms, including Twitter, that advance his mission to hear, serve and empower everyone in our country."
NAM has released a "roadmap" of policies Trump could implement to promote U.S. manufacturing, including reforming the nation's tax code and promoting free trade: http://bit.ly/2iSGItY
